Sustainable cork handbags, ethically made in Portugal.

Quirk bags grow on trees. Literally.

Cork delivers the durability and style of leather without harming people, planet or animals.

Better for people, better for the planet.

We use people-friendly manufacturing methods and planet-friendly materials.

Crafted by hand in Portugal.

Our production partners are small, family-owned businesses based in Portugal that value both quality and environmental sustainability. Our bags are carefully made by hand, not mass manufactured.

Simple, timeless design.

Intentionally designed to stay in style and in great condition for years to come.

Why we love cork:

It's cruelty-free and vegan.

Cork is made from the bark of the cork oak tree, not animals. No cows are harmed in the making of Quirk bags. No trees are harmed either - cork bark is carefully removed from trees when harvested, leaving the trees completely healthy and in tact.

It's sustainable.

Harvesting the bark from a cork oak tree actually increases its ability to absorb carbon dioxide. During the natural regeneration process following careful stripping of the bark, a harvested cork tree absorbs five times more carbon dioxide than non-harvested trees.

It's durable.

Cork is an extremely durable material, well-suited to handle the wear and tear of everyday life. It is water-resistant, stain-resistant, and even flame-resistant, so you can be sure your Quirk bag will age gracefully from season to season.

You buy a bag, we plant a tree.

We are a proud partner of One Tree planted which means that for every Quirk bag sold, one tree is planted in an area affected by natural disasters and deforestation. Planting trees benefits nature, slows climate change, and supports communities in need.
